There are a lot of different exercises that men can do to help them burn fat. However, those exercises won't do much good if they're not eating foods that will help them reach their goal of shedding weight. To burn fat, men need to be aware of what to include and exclude from their diet and also when and how often to eat during the day.
Eat More Often
One of the key diet changes men should make when they want to burn fat is to exchange three big meals for six smaller ones. By increasing the amount of times you eat a day, you're less likely to overindulge during one particular meal and stick to your recommended calorie intake. If you don't have time for six separate meals, even having four meals will help. This means removing sugar from your diet and having a minimum of three servings of fruits that are high in fiber and antioxidants. In terms of protein, your diet should include 1 gm of protein for every pound of body weight, up to a total of 250 grams of protein. It's also recommended that you drink 4 cups of green tea a day.
Lean Proteins
Eating lean proteins are another way to help burn fat. Foods that contain lean proteins are called thermogenic and up to 30 percent of the calories they contain are required in digestion. This means eating a lot of poultry, seafood, game meat and egg whites. Depending on your current weight and age, you'll have a recommended calorie intake and all of your meals should fall within that range if you want to burn fat. There are three components that you should include in every meal: lean protein, fibrous carbohydrates and starchy carbohydrates. Fibrous carbs are found in green vegetables such as broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprouts and salad greens. Brown rice, oats and sweet potatoes act as the starchy carbohydrates that you need to complete your fat burning meal.
Breakfast Every Day
Don't forget about breakfast. Regardless of how busy you are, if you want to burn fat you need to eat something for breakfast. Not eating breakfast can lower your body's metabolism by 10 percent throughout the day, which cuts down on the amount of fat you'll burn. A bowl of instant oatmeal, a cereal bar or even just an apple are all you need to get your metabolism started in the morning, if you don't have time to prepare something with fat burning protein in it like eggs.
