How to Take a Multi-Vitamin

A multi-vitamin can fill in the gaps that a less-than-perfect diet leaves. Taken properly it can be a hassle-free way to boost your health.

    Read the product label to determine the dosage. Check with a pharmacist if you have questions.

    Take your vitamin at the same time each day. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for the regular dose. Do not double dose.

    Take each dose with a full glass of water.

    Take your multi-vitamin at least 30 minutes after consuming caffeine, which can inhibit the absorption of certain vitamins.

    Take the vitamin after a meal to lessen stomach irritation.
